RRB Group D 2018 30Day Study Plan

Why a 30Day Plan?

The RRB Group D examination is a competitive gateway for positions such as Assistant Loco Pilot, Technician, Traffic Assistant, and more. In 2018 the syllabus remained unchanged from earlier years, making it possible to cover everything systematically within a month if the right strategy is applied.

This plan assumes you can dedicate 68 hours a day to focused study. It balances three main sections of the exam:

  • General Awareness (GK) 100 questions
  • Arithmetic Ability 100 questions
  • Technical Ability 100 questions

Each day is broken into three blocks, one for each section, followed by a short revision or mock test. The plan also includes weekly catchup days to review weak areas.

30Day Detailed Schedule

Day 1 5: Foundations

Arithmetic: Refresh basic concepts percentages, profit & loss, simple & compound interest.

Technical: Review basic electrical engineering fundamentals Ohms law, seriesparallel circuits, transformers.

End of each day: Solve 10 GK MCQs, 10 arithmetic MCQs, and 10 technical MCQs.

Day 6 10: Speed Up

GK: Focus on Indian Polity, History (preindependence & post), Geography (physical & economic). Use bulletpoint notes.

Arithmetic: Dive into Time & Work, Speed & Distance, Ratio & Proportion, Algebra (linear equations).

Continue regular short drills (10+10+10) to keep concepts fresh.

Day 21 25: Intensive Revision

GK: Rotate through the three core areas (Polity, History, Geography) each day, revisiting notes and solving 20 MCQs per area.

Arithmetic: Focus on highfrequency topics LCM/HCF, Mensuration, Number series.

Late evening: Timed quiz of 30 mixed questions to maintain exam stamina.

Day 26 30: Final Polish

Day 26 Full mock (200+200+200=600seconds100min). Simulate real test environment.

Day 27 Review mock, focus on speed of calculation and elimination technique.

Day 28 Light revision: flashcards for GK facts, quick formula sheet for arithmetic, diagram recall for technical.

Day 29 Relaxed practice: solve 40 mixed questions, no time pressure, just confidence building.

Day 30 Rest day: light reading of current affairs, early sleep, mental preparation.

Following this structure will help you cover the entire syllabus, sharpen timemanagement skills, and enter the exam hall with confidence.

Effective Study Tips

  • Active Recall: After reading a GK fact, close the book and recite it aloud.
  • Spaced Repetition: Review each topic at least three timesDay1, Day7, Day14.
  • Formula Sheet: Keep a onepage sheet for arithmetic formulas and technical constants.
  • Time Blocking: Stick to the 2hour block per section; use a timer to avoid overflow.
  • Mock Tests: Treat them as real examsno pauses, no calculator unless allowed.
  • Healthy Routine: 67hours sleep, short walks, and hydration improve concentration.
