Orientation Programs

Waterford High School offers several orientation options to help new students become familiar with our campus, policies, and expectations.

Freshman Orientation

Held in August, this day-long program introduces incoming freshmen to campus life, includes building tours, technology setup, peer mentoring activities, and schedule distribution. Students also receive their student ID and lockers during this session.

Transfer Student Orientation

Student Services & Daily Operations

Navigating daily school operations is easier when you understand the resources available to support your everyday needs.

Cafeteria & Nutrition Services

Our cafeteria serves breakfast and lunch daily. Students may pay with cash or use their pre-paid meal accounts, which can be managed through the parent portal. Free and reduced-price meals are available for qualifying families. Complete the application in the main office or online by September 1st.

Health Services

The Health Office is located in the main building and is staffed by a registered nurse throughout the school day. Services include:

• Medication administration (with appropriate documentation)

Transportation

Bus transportation is provided for students living outside the walking boundary established by the district. Bus routes and schedules are posted on the website by mid-August and are also available in the main office. Students must present their school ID to board their assigned bus. Late activity buses are available Monday through Thursday at 5:30 PM for students remaining after school for approved activities.

Attendance Procedures

Regular attendance is critical to academic success. Parents must report absences by calling the attendance line before 9:00 AM on the day of absence. Students returning after an absence must present a note from a parent or healthcare provider to the attendance office before school to receive an admission slip to class. Planned absences for educational purposes or family events require prior approval through the administration office.
