Founded in 2003, the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) has emerged as a leading multidisciplinary institution in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. Originally established to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the petroleum sector, UPES has broadened its academic portfolio to include Energy, Law, Business, Technology, Design, and Health Sciences. The universitys guiding philosophy is to blend industry relevance with academic rigor, fostering graduates who can drive sustainable development in a rapidly evolving global economy.

UPES is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and enjoys ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management systems. Several programs hold professional recognitions from bodies such as AICTE, IET, CII, and NAAC (A+ grade). Academics

UPES offers over 50 undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes across six schools:

• School of Energy & Fuels B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering, M.Sc in Energy Management, Ph.D. in Renewable Energy.
• School of Engineering Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical Engineering, and emerging fields such as Data Science & AI.
• School of Business BBA, MBA (specialisations in Energy Management, Marketing, Finance) and Executive MBA.
• School of Law BA LLB, BCom LLB, LLM with a focus on Energy Law and International Trade.
• School of Design B.Des in Product Design, Fashion Design, and Interior Architecture.

Curricula are constantly revised in consultation with industry partners such as Indian Oil, ONGC, Reliance, and International Oil Companies. Admissions

UPES follows a transparent, meritbased admission process. Key steps are:
