State Level Talent Search Examination (SLTSE) 2019 Rajasthan

1. Overview

The State Level Talent Search Examination (SLTSE) 2019 was organized by the Rajasthan State Education Board (RSEB) to identify and nurture academically gifted schoolgoing students across the state. The examination was conducted in two stages a preliminary online test followed by a written test for qualified candidates. Successful candidates were offered scholarships, special coaching, and guaranteed admission to select programmes in leading institutions.

2. Objective of the Exam

• To discover highpotential students in Science, Mathematics, and Languages.
• To provide meritbased incentives such as scholarships, books, and mentorship.
• To create a talent pool for future staterun technical and professional courses.
• To encourage a culture of competitive academic preparation among school students.

3. Eligibility Criteria

Age	Born on or after 1January2002 (maximum age 17 years as of 31December2019).
Academic Performance	Minimum 60% aggregate in ClassX board examinations.
Residence	Resident of Rajasthan (permanent address proof required).
Other	Should not have appeared for any national-level talent test in the same year.

4. Registration Process

1. Online Application: Visit the official portal slse.rajasthan.gov.in and click on New Registration.
2. Fill in Details: Provide personal, academic, and parental information. Upload a recent passportsize photograph (jpeg/png, 3040KB) and scanned signature.
3. Payment: Pay the application fee of INR250 via net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI. A receipt is generated automatically.
4. Confirmation: After successful payment, a unique Application ID is displayed. Note it down; it will be required for all subsequent steps.
5. Verification: The board verifies documents within 57working days. Applicants receive an SMS/email confirming eligibility.

5. Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The preliminary online test was held on 7September2019. The test comprised three sections:

Each correct answer awarded 4 marks; there was a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer. The syllabus followed the NCERT ClassX curriculum with an emphasis on problemsolving and analytical reasoning.

6. Admit Card

Admit cards were released on 25August2019. Candidates could download them by logging into the portal with their Application ID and password. The admit card displayed:

• Candidates name, photograph, and Application ID.
• Exam centre details (28 designated centres across Rajasthan).
• Exam date, time, and instructions.

It was mandatory to carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo ID (Aadhar card, school ID, or voter ID) to the exam centre.

7. Result Declaration & Ranking

Results were announced on 15October2019. The portal displayed:

• Overall score and sectional scores.
• AllIndia Rank (AIR) and State Rank (SR) based on total marks.
• Eligibility for the second stage (written test) top 5% of candidates qualified.

Candidates who secured a rank of 2000 were invited for the written test at the RSEB headquarters, Jaipur.

8. Counselling & Seat Allocation

After the written test (held on 12November2019), the final merit list was prepared. Around 1200 candidates received the following benefits:

• Scholarships: INR10000 per annum for two academic years.
• Free Study Materials: Textbooks, reference books, and lab kits.
• Special Coaching: Access to weekend coaching classes in Mathematics and Science.
• Assured Admission: Priority admission to staterun engineering, medical, and teachertraining colleges.

Counselling sessions were conducted on 1December2019 in district education offices. Candidates had to bring their original mark sheets, admit card, and a receipt of scholarship fee (if any).

Q1. Can a student who appeared for ClassX in 2018 apply?

Yes, provided the student is appearing for ClassXI in 201920 and satisfies the age and aggregate criteria.

Q2. Is the exam conducted in any language other than English?

The primary medium is English. However, a limited number of questions in Mathematics and Science were provided in Hindi for candidates who applied for the Hindi medium.

Q3. What happens if a candidate forgets the password?

Use the Forgot Password link on the login page. An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number to reset the password.

Q4. Are there any additional fees for the written test?

No. The written test is free for all qualified candidates.

Q5. Can the result be contested?

Yes. Candidates may file a representation within 7days of result publication, along with supporting documents, to the Examination Authority.
