Eligibility & Requirements

• Current undergraduate student in good academic standing (minimum GPA 2.5 on a 4.0 scale).
• Completed at least one year of fulltime study at your home university.
• Proficiency in English (TOEFLiBT 80, IELTS 6.0, or equivalent). Korean language is a plus but not mandatory.
• Valid passport for the entire duration of the exchange.
• Ability to meet financial obligations (tuition, living expenses, health insurance).

Students who have previously studied abroad at another institution may also apply, provided they meet the above academic criteria. Sogang encourages applicants from diverse academic backgrounds, and special provisions exist for students in the arts, humanities, and social sciences.

Application Process

1. Consult your homeuniversity study abroad office. Verify that Sogang is an approved destination and obtain the necessary nomination forms.
2. Gather required documents:
   • Official transcript
   • Proof of English proficiency
   • Copy of passport identification page
   • Letter of motivation (500800 words)
   • Two academic references
3. Submit the online application via Sogangs Exchange Portal (deadline usually March 31 for Spring intake and October 31 for Fall intake).
4. Pay the application fee (US$70, nonrefundable).
5. Await decision: Admissions committee reviews applications within 46 weeks. Successful applicants receive an Acceptance Letter and a Visa Support Letter.
6. Arrange travel and housing: Sogang offers oncampus dormitories (single or double rooms) and assists with offcampus options.
7. Predeparture orientation: Mandatory online session covering academic expectations, health insurance, and Korean cultural basics.
