Sixth Annual Front Range Applied Mathematics Student Conference

Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado | March 15, 2024

Welcome Message

The Front Range Applied Mathematics community is delighted to host the Sixth Annual Front Range Applied Mathematics Student Conference (FRAMSC) at Colorado State University. This premier student-focused conference continues to bring together emerging mathematicians from across the Front Range region and beyond to share their research, exchange ideas, and forge lasting professional connections.

About the Conference

Established in 2019, FRAMSC was created with the vision of providing a supportive academic environment where graduate and advanced undergraduate students could present their research in applied mathematics and related fields. Over the past six years, the conference has grown to become one of the most important student mathematics gatherings in the Western United States.

Applied mathematics plays an increasingly crucial role in addressing complex scientific, engineering, and societal challenges. This conference offers a unique platform for students to showcase their contributions to this dynamic field, spanning topics from mathematical biology and computational neuroscience to optimization, data science, and mathematical modeling.

Keynote Speakers

We are honored to host distinguished faculty members who will deliver keynote presentations:

  • Dr. Maria Santos - Professor of Applied Mathematics, University of Colorado Boulder
"Mathematical Modeling of Climate Dynamics: From Theoretical Foundations to Prediction"
  • Dr. James Chen - Professor of Computational Mathematics, Colorado School of Mines
"Machine Learning Approaches to High-Dimensional Partial Differential Equations"

Conference Format

The Sixth Annual Front Range Applied Mathematics Student Conference will be an in-person event at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. This format maximizes networking opportunities and fosters the interactive discussions that have been a hallmark of previous conferences. All presentations will take place in the Mathematics Building, with breakout rooms for parallel sessions and the Grand Hall for keynotes and meals.

Conference Impact

Previous FRAMSC conferences have helped over 300 students gain valuable presentation experience, make professional connections, and discover research opportunities. Many participants have reported that the conference played a significant role in their academic and career development, leading to research collaborations, publication opportunities, and graduate school acceptance.

We look forward to welcoming you to an exciting day of mathematics discovery and connection at the Sixth Annual Front Range Applied Mathematics Student Conference! Join us as we continue to build bridges between students, institutions, and the broader applied mathematics community.
