Effective Date: July 1, 2023
GlobalTech Inc. is excited to announce the rollout of our new flexible working hours policy effective July 1, 2023. This significant update to our work model reflects our commitment to fostering a healthy work-life balance while maximizing productivity and innovation across our organization.
After extensive research and analysis of industry best practices, along with valuable feedback from our employees, we have developed a comprehensive flexible working hours program. This initiative is designed to provide our team members with greater autonomy in managing their professional and personal commitments while ensuring we continue to meet our business objectives and deliver exceptional results to our clients.
A flexible approach to work hours represents the future of modern work. Our decision to implement this policy is based on several key factors:
Our flexible working hours policy provides options for employees to establish schedules that work best for both their personal needs and their team's requirements. The key components of this policy include:
All employees are expected to be available during core hours, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM local time, Monday through Friday. This ensures sufficient overlap for team collaboration, meetings, and communication across departments.
Outside the core hours, employees may adjust their start and end times according to their preferences and needs. The complete working day may fall between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM local time, provided total daily hours meet the required 8 hours (as defined by your employment agreement or local regulations).
Where operationally feasible, employees may request a compressed work week option, working four 10-hour days instead of five 8-hour days. This arrangement requires advanced manager approval and must ensure adequate team coverage.
Eligible employees may request up to three days of remote work per week, subject to manager approval and role requirements. These requests should be submitted through the HR portal at least two weeks in advance of adoption.
To ensure a smooth transition to this new policy, the following guidelines have been established:
The transition to flexible working hours represents a shift in focus from hours present to outcomes achieved. Our performance management system will evolve to reflect this change:

To ensure all employees thrive in the flexible working environment, GlobalTech Inc. will provide:
While flexible working hours are available to all eligible employees, participation is not mandatory. Employees who prefer traditional working hours may continue with the standard 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule.
Within the parameters of the policy, you have considerable flexibility. You may choose start and end times that work for you, provided they fall within the 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM window, you complete 8 hours of work, and you're available during core hours (10:00 AM to 3:00 PM).
Absolutely. The core hours are specifically designed to ensure consistent team collaboration. Additionally, managers will facilitate regular team touchpoints and create opportunities for meaningful connection regardless of individual schedules.
This policy does not alter career advancement opportunities. All employees will continue to be evaluated on performance, achievement of objectives, and contribution to the company, regardless of their working schedule.
Temporary schedule adjustments can be made with one day's notice to your manager. For planned changes lasting more than a week, please provide at least one week's notice to ensure adequate team coverage.
No. Your compensation and benefits remain unchanged. The flexible working hours policy is designed to enhance your work experience without affecting your total rewards package.
During peak business periods, teams may need to adjust schedules temporarily to meet demands. These situations will be addressed through open communication between managers and their teams, with appropriate recognition for flexibility during high-pressure periods.
GlobalTech Inc. is committed to evaluating the effectiveness of this policy through quantitative and qualitative measures:
Data from these assessments will inform refinements to the policy as needed, ensuring it continues to serve both our employees and our business effectively.
