Living with chronic pain following a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) can be an overwhelming experience. Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness is not about clearing your mind completely, but about observing your thoughts and sensations without judgment. For those with TBI, it is important to practice mindfulness in short intervals to avoid overstimulation.

Focus on the present moment. If pain arises, acknowledge it as a sensation rather than an identity. By observing the pain with curiosity rather than fear or frustration, you can often change the emotional response to the pain, which in turn reduces the perceived intensity.
