What is the Provisional Selection List?

The Provisional Selection List (PSL) is a temporary roster of candidates who have successfully cleared the written examination for the Hindi (Master Cadre 3704) post in the Department of Education, Government of India. The list is published to enable an orderly and transparent recruitment process for the final appointment of teachers in the Central Government schools.

The PSL is not a final appointment order; rather, it offers an opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for the subsequent stages of selection, mainly the interview/vivavoce or a documentverification round, as prescribed by the recruiting authority.

• Indian citizenship.
• Age: Minimum 18 years on 1stJanuary of the year of recruitment; maximum age as per the rules (generally 37 years), with relaxations for SC/ST, OBC, PwD, exservicemen, etc.

After the written examination, answer sheets are evaluated by a team of subject experts. The total marks for each candidate are calculated and a merit order is prepared. The candidates who meet the qualifying criteria and rank within the prescribed vacancy limit are placed on the Provisional Selection List.
