Pink Team Evaluation Process

A clear, transparent, and repeatable method for measuring performance and growth.

1. Overview

The Pink Team uses a structured evaluation framework that blends quantitative metrics with qualitative feedback. The goal is to provide every member with actionable insights, reinforce the teams core values, and align individual effort with the organizations strategic objectives.

2. Core Principles

  • Transparency: All criteria, weights, and timelines are openly shared.
  • Objectivity: Datadriven metrics reduce bias.
  • Continuous Improvement: Feedback is a twoway street and influences future goals.
  • Inclusivity: Every role, from junior analyst to senior manager, is evaluated against relevant standards.

3. Evaluation Cycle

3.1 Planning (Weeks12)

During the first two weeks of the quarter, team leads set SMART objectives for each member. Objectives are recorded in the shared Pink Goals spreadsheet and linked to the corresponding performance indicators.

3.2 Ongoing Monitoring (Weeks310)

Throughout the quarter, progress is tracked weekly:

  • Quantitative data: KPIs such as delivery time, defect rate, and client satisfaction scores.
  • Qualitative data: Peer observations, stakeholder comments, and selfreflections entered into the Pink Journal.

3.3 MidQuarter CheckIn (Week6)

A 30minute oneonone meeting reviews goal status, removes blockers, and adjusts targets if needed. This session is documented, and any changes are reflected in the final scoring model.

3.4 Final Review (Weeks1112)

At the end of the quarter, the evaluation committee compiles scores and drafts feedback reports. These are shared with each employee at a dedicated feedback meeting.

4. Scoring Model

The model uses a weighted 100point scale:

Component Weight Explanation
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) 40% Objective data tied to business outcomes.
Project Delivery Quality 20% Defect rates, code reviews, design compliance.
Collaboration & Communication 15% Peer feedback, meeting participation, knowledge sharing.
Innovation & Initiative 10% Proposed improvements, prototypes, process enhancements.
Professional Development 10% Learning goals achieved, certifications, mentorship.
Alignment with Core Values 5% Demonstrated behaviours that reflect Pink Teams culture.

Scores are rounded to one decimal place. A final rating of 85+ is considered Exceeds Expectations. Scores between 7084 are Meets Expectations, and below 70 signals a Development Needed status.

5. Feedback Delivery

  • Positive reinforcement: Highlight specific achievements and how they contributed to team goals.
  • Constructive insights: Focus on behaviours, not personalities. Provide clear examples and suggest next steps.
  • Development plan: Cocreate a 3month action plan with measurable milestones.
  • Documentation: All feedback is recorded in the Pink Review Archive for future reference.

6. Appeal & Reevaluation

If an employee believes a rating is inaccurate, they may request a reevaluation within five business days. The process includes:

  1. Submission of a written appeal outlining concerns.
  2. Review by an independent senior manager not involved in the original assessment.
  3. A decision communicated within three days, with possible score adjustment or clarification.

7. Continuous Improvement of the Process

Every six months the Pink Team conducts a retrospective on the evaluation framework itself. Participants discuss:

  • Metric relevance are the KPIs still aligned with business priorities?
  • Weight distribution does the current weighting reflect true performance?
  • Feedback quality are employees finding the comments helpful?

Findings are incorporated into the next iteration, ensuring the process evolves alongside the team.

8. Tools & Resources

All participants have access to the following:

  • Pink Goals Dashboard realtime tracking of objectives.
  • Pink Journal a private space for selfreflection and peer notes.
  • Evaluation FAQ answers to common questions about scoring and feedback.
  • Quarterly workshop videos on effective feedback and goalsetting.

9. Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I miss a KPI target?

Missing a target affects the KPI component score, but the final rating also considers effort, context, and any mitigating factors documented in the journal.

Can I set personal development goals that are not directly tied to business metrics?

Yes. Those goals fall under the Professional Development category and are weighted at 10% of the total score.

How often are the evaluation criteria reviewed?

Criteria are reviewed semiannually during the process retrospective. Adjustments are announced at the start of the following quarter.
