New Train Schedule Effective from 1July2026

Overview

Starting 1July2026, the national rail network will roll out a new timetable designed to improve reliability, reduce crowding on peak services and provide better connections for regional travelers. The schedule, developed after extensive passenger surveys and data analysis, introduces faster express services, additional offpeak trains and adjusted weekend frequencies. This page explains what the changes mean for everyday commuters, occasional riders and longdistance travelers.

Key Changes

1. Faster Express Services

Express trains on the main northsouth corridor (CityA CityB) now run nonstop between the two central stations, cutting the journey time from 2hours15minutes to 1hour45minutes. These services will operate every 30minutes during peak periods and hourly offpeak.

2. Increased OffPeak Frequency

Offpeak frequencies have been raised on the suburban lines serving the greater metropolitan area. Where there were previously two trains per hour, passengers will now enjoy three trains per hour, reducing wait times from 30minutes to 20minutes.

3. Weekend Service Boost

Weekend demand has grown significantly. To address this, an extra roundtrip has been added on the coastal line (CoastStation HarborTown) and the service interval has been reduced from 2hours to 1hour30minutes on Saturdays and Sundays.

4. New LateNight Connections

Starting at 22:30, three citycenter lines will continue to run until 01:00, providing a safe and reliable option for nightshift workers and latenight travelers. These trains will run at 60minute intervals.

Note: All changes are effective from 1July2026. Existing season tickets remain valid through the transition period, but passengers are encouraged to check the new timetable for any adjusted departure times.
