The Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) is a publicprivate partnership created to promote sustainable economic growth in Montgomery County, Maryland. Founded in 1968, MCEDC works with local government, businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations to attract new investment, retain existing enterprises, and nurture a skilled workforce.
Located in the heart of the countys business district, MCEDC serves a diverse region that includes hightech corridors, historic downtowns, and a growing residential base. - Business Attraction: Market research, site selection assistance, and incentive negotiation to bring new companies to the county.

Key Projects & Initiatives
1. Tech Corridor Expansion
The countys Tech Corridor along the I495 corridor has attracted biotech, cybersecurity, and fintech firms. MCEDC facilitated the creation of a 150acre research park, offering tax credits and streamlined permitting.
2. Montgomery Business Incubator (MBI)
MBI provides affordable office space, mentorship, and access to venture capital for earlystage companies. Since its launch in 2015, the incubator has helped launch over 120 startups, creating more than 2,000 jobs.
3. Workforce Upskilling Grant Program
In partnership with Montgomery College and local unions, MCEDC administers a grant program that funds training in advanced manufacturing, data analytics, and green technologies. The program has awarded $12million in grants since 2018.
4. Green Infrastructure Initiative
To align with the countys climate goals, MCEDC supports projects that improve energy efficiency, incorporate renewable energy, and promote sustainable building practices. The initiative includes a lowinterest loan pool for retrofitting commercial properties.
