However, many states have enacted laws allowing the medical use of marijuana.

Patients interested in medical marijuana must typically reside in a state where it is legal and obtain a recommendation or certification from a licensed physician. This certification allows them to apply for a medical marijuana card, which grants them access to state-licensed dispensaries. It is crucial for patients to understand the laws in their specific state, as qualifying conditions and possession limits vary widely.
