Mutual transfer programs allow qualified teachers to move between participating schools or districts while retaining their current employment status, benefits, and seniority. These programs aim to address staffing imbalances, support professional development, and promote a balanced distribution of expertise across the education system.

Eligibility Criteria

To be placed on the list of teachers eligible for mutual transfer, an individual must meet all of the following conditions:

• Hold a valid teaching certificate for the subject/grade level.
• Have a minimum of two years of continuous service with the current employer.
• Maintain a satisfactory performance rating (3 on a 5point scale) for the last two appraisal cycles.
• Be in good standing with no active disciplinary proceedings.
• Demonstrate willingness to relocate within the defined geographic zone of the program.
• Submit a completed Transfer Eligibility Form signed by the current principal.

Application Process

1. Verify Eligibility: Review the criteria listed in the Eligibility Criteria section.
2. Submit Intent: Fill out the Mutual Transfer Intent Form and obtain a signature from your current principal.
3. Department Review: The Human Resources department validates the submission and confirms the teachers standing.
4. Matchmaking: Eligible positions are identified based on the teachers preferences and the needs of partner schools.
5. Interview (if required): Some destinations may request an interview or classroom observation.
6. Final Approval: Both the sending and receiving schools sign a Transfer Agreement.
7. Transition: The teacher receives an orientation at the new school and begins duties on the agreed start date.

All paperwork must be completed at least 60 days before the intended transfer date. Early submissions are encouraged to allow sufficient time for matching and administrative processing.

Can I apply for a transfer if I have less than two years of service?

Not under the standard mutual transfer program. However, special circumstances (e.g., family relocation) may be considered on a casebycase basis.

Will my seniority and benefits transfer automatically?
