Interreg ADRION Communication Plan

1. Objectives of the Communication Plan

The Interreg ADRION programme brings together partners from the AdriaticIonian region to promote transborder cooperation, sustainable development and innovation. The communication plan is designed to:

  • Raise awareness of the programmes aims, activities and results across the region.
  • Strengthen the visibility of partners and the added value created by crossborder collaboration.
  • Facilitate the exchange of best practices and lessons learned.
  • Encourage participation of local stakeholderspublic authorities, NGOs, SMEs and academiain future calls.
  • Support the dissemination of project outputs to maximise impact on policy, practice and market uptake.

2. Target Audiences

The plan identifies four main audience groups, each with specific needs and preferred communication channels.

2.1 Primary Audiences

  • Local and regional authorities may adopt policy recommendations.
  • Project partners need uptodate information for coordination.
  • SMEs and startups potential beneficiaries of innovation results.
  • Research institutions & universities interested in scientific outcomes.

2.2 Secondary Audiences

  • General public in the AdriaticIonian region.
  • Media outlets (regional, national and specialised).
  • Funding bodies and European institutions.
  • International partners looking for replication opportunities.

3. Core Messages

All communications will revolve around three pillars:

  1. Collaboration: Together we create solutions that cross borders and benefit all AdriaticIonian communities.
  2. Innovation: From research to market ADRION turns ideas into tangible, sustainable solutions.
  3. Impact: Every project contributes to a greener, more inclusive and resilient region.

These pillars are adapted for each audience. For example, policy makers receive a message focused on evidencebased recommendations, while SMEs hear new business opportunities and market access.

4. Communication Channels

Choosing the right channel ensures the message reaches the intended audience efficiently.

4.1 Digital Media

  • Website: Central hub for news, documents, event calendars and downloadable deliverables.
  • Social networks: LinkedIn (professional updates), Twitter (realtime news), Facebook (community stories) and Instagram (visual highlights).
  • Email newsletters: Monthly bulletins segmented by audience group.
  • Webinars & live streams: For workshops, stakeholder meetings and project showcases.

4.2 Traditional Media

Year 3 Impact Consolidation & Legacy

  • Final report and openaccess repository of all deliverables.
  • Interactive map on the website showing project locations and outcomes.
  • Closing event streamed live, followed by a press release summarising achievements.
  • Postproject newsletter outlining opportunities for continuation and new calls.
Note: All activities are evaluated monthly; adjustments are made when audience metrics suggest a shift in channel effectiveness.

6. Monitoring & Evaluation

Effective communication requires continuous measurement. The following indicators will be tracked:

  • Reach: Website visits, newsletter open rates, socialmedia impressions.
  • Engagement: Clickthrough rates, comments, shares, webinar registrations.
  • Media coverage: Number of articles, broadcast mentions, and estimated audience size.
  • Stakeholder feedback: Survey results from roadshows and webinars.
  • Impact: Number of policy documents citing ADRION results, business partnerships formed, and adoption of project innovations.

Quarterly reports will be compiled by the communication officer and shared with the coordination team. Findings will inform the next cycles strategy, ensuring that resources are allocated to the most effective channels.
