Intermediate Korean Language Level 3

Who Should Enroll?

This course is designed for learners who have successfully completed Level2 or have an equivalent grasp of Korean (approximately B1B2 on the CEFR scale). Ideal participants include:

Course Objectives

By the end of Level3, learners will be able to:

• Understand and produce complex grammatical structures such as () /, , / and indirect speech.
• Read authentic materials including news articles, short stories, and simple academic texts.
• Write polished emails, reports, and essays with appropriate tone and register.
• Participate confidently in debates, presentations, and social gatherings.
• Appreciate Korean cultural nuances, idioms, and proverbs in context.

Curriculum Overview

1. Grammar & Syntax (30hrs)

Focus on advanced connective endings, conditional forms, and nuanced modal expressions. Each lesson includes brief explanations, targeted practice, and reallife dialogues.

2. Listening & Speaking (25hrs)

Authentic audio from radio, podcasts, and interviews. Roleplays cover workplace meetings, academic discussions, and cultural events. Pronunciation drills sharpen intonation patterns.

3. Reading Comprehension (20hrs)

Materials range from Korean newspaper columns to excerpts from modern literature. Strategies include skimming for main ideas, scanning for details, and inference making.

4. Writing Skills (20hrs)

Progressive writing tasks: personal letters formal emails opinion essays. Emphasis on coherence, cohesion, and appropriate honorifics.

5. Culture & Society (15hrs)

Interactive sessions on Korean history, contemporary social issues, etiquette, and pop culture. Includes film clips, cooking demos, and guest speakers.

Assessments & Certification

Three types of evaluation ensure balanced progress:

• Midterm Test: Grammar and listening (written and audio).
• Project: Prepare a 10minute presentation on a chosen Korean topic, accompanied by a short essay.
• Final Exam: Integrated test covering all four skills.

Successful candidates receive a Certificate of Completion Intermediate Korean Level3, recognized by partner universities and many Korean companies.

Students receive a digital workbook, access to an online portal with video lessons, flashcard decks, and a curated library of authentic Korean texts. Optional supplemental materials include:
