Course Overview
Our Intensive Basic Japanese Course is designed for beginners who want to acquire functional language skills quickly. Over a period of six weeks, students will master hiragana, basic katakana, essential kanji, and a solid foundation of grammar and conversation. The program blends classroom instruction, interactive activities, and realworld practice to ensure learners can understand and be understood in everyday situations.
Key outcome: Walk into a Japanese caf, order a drink, ask for directions, and introduce yourself confidently in Japanese after just one month of study.

Week 1 Foundations
- Introduction to Japanese phonetics.
- Learning all 46 hiragana characters.
- Basic greetings and selfintroduction.
Week 2 Katakana & Everyday Vocabulary
- Mastering the 46 katakana symbols.
- Loanwords, numbers, dates, and time expressions.
- Pronunciation drills and listening practice.
Week 3 Core Grammar I
- Sentence structure: SubjectObjectVerb.
- Particles , , , , , .
- Simple present and negative forms.
Week 4 Core Grammar II & Essential Kanji
- Past tense, adjectives, and question formation.
- Introducing 20 basic kanji (numbers, days, common verbs).
- Reading short dialogues.
Week 5 Conversational Practice
- Roleplays: ordering food, buying tickets, asking for directions.
- Listening to authentic audio clips.
- Peer feedback and correction.
Week 6 Review & Assessment
- Comprehensive revision of all material.
- Mock conversation test.
- Certificate of Completion and nextstep recommendations.
