Class 7: Radioactive Material

Substances containing radionuclides where both the activity concentration and the total activity exceed specified values.

Class 8: Corrosives

Substances which, by chemical action, will cause severe damage to living tissue or other material (e.g., acids and batteries).

Class 9: Miscellaneous

Substances and articles which present a danger not covered by other classes, such as dry ice, magnetized material, or lithium batteries.

Key Components of Compliance

To ship dangerous goods safely, stakeholders must adhere to a rigorous process defined by the DGR. This involves classification, packing, marking, labeling, documentation, and handling.

Before any dangerous good can be offered for transport, it must be properly classified.
