5. Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs): If any part of the manufacturing process resulted in a deviation from the original plan, the NCR documents what happened, the impact on quality, and the evidence that the defect was repaired or formally accepted by the customer through a waiver.

The Importance of Integrity

The ADP is a legal and technical document. In industries where hardware failure could result in loss of life or catastrophic financial damage, the data within an ADP is subject to intense scrutiny. Auditors and quality assurance engineers review these packages to ensure there are no gaps in the history of the part.

An incomplete or poorly organized ADP can lead to the rejection of high-value hardware, regardless of how well the physical product performs. Therefore, the compilation of the ADP is not an afterthought; it is integrated into the manufacturing process from day one. Modern manufacturing facilities often use automated Electronic Data Management Systems (EDMS) to collect this data in real-time to avoid the administrative burden of gathering records after the hardware is finished.
