Geokon Warranty Statement

Geokon, a leading provider of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring solutions, stands behind the quality, reliability, and performance of its products. This warranty statement outlines the coverage, conditions, and procedures that apply to all Geokon equipment sold directly or through authorized distributors.

1. Scope of Warranty

The Geokon Warranty (the Warranty) applies exclusively to:

• Materials and workmanship of all new Geokon products shipped from an authorized Geokon facility.
• Products installed and operated in accordance with the accompanying installation and user manuals.

The Warranty does not cover:

• Damage caused by misuse, neglect, accident, or unauthorized modification.
• Normal wear and tear, consumable parts (e.g., batteries, cables), or software upgrades not supplied as part of the original purchase.
• Products purchased secondhand, refurbished, or sold outside the authorized distribution network.

2. Warranty Duration

Geokon warrants its products for a period of two (2) years from the date of original shipment, unless a different period is expressly stated in the products technical data sheet or sales contract. The warranty period starts on the day the product leaves Geokons warehouse or the date indicated on the shipping documents.

3. What Is Covered

During the warranty period, Geokon will, at its discretion:

• Repair or replace defective components free of charge.
• Provide a replacement unit of equal or higher value if the original unit cannot be repaired within a reasonable time.
• Cover reasonable freight charges for return of the defective product to Geokons service center.

All repairs or replacements will be performed using new or refurbished parts that meet Geokons original specifications.

4. Warranty Exclusions

The Warranty does not apply to:

• Damage resulting from exposure to extreme environmental conditions beyond the products rated limits.
• Improper installation, calibration, or maintenance not performed according to Geokons guidelines.
• Software errors that arise from thirdparty applications or usercreated scripts.
• Any costs associated with reinstallation, system integration, or loss of data.

5. Claim Procedure

To initiate a warranty claim, the customer must follow these steps:

1. Notify Geokon: Contact the Geokon Service Desk (phone or email) within 30 days of discovering the defect. Provide the serial number, model, purchase date, and a detailed description of the issue.
2. Submit Documentation: Send a copy of the original invoice, proof of shipment, and any relevant calibration or installation records.
3. Return the Product: Geokon will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and shipping instructions. The product must be securely packaged and shipped at the customers expense unless the defect is clearly covered by the Warranty.
4. Evaluation: Upon receipt, Geokons engineering team will assess the item. If the claim is approved, repair or replacement will proceed promptly.
5. Resolution: Geokon will ship the repaired or replacement unit back to the customer with a report outlining the actions taken.

6. Limitation of Liability

Except for the express remedies set out in this Warranty, Geokon disclaims all other warranties, whether expressed or implied, including but not limited to any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Geokons total liability shall not exceed the original purchase price of the defective product.

7. Transferability

The Warranty is nontransferable and applies only to the original purchaser named on the sales invoice. Any subsequent owner of the equipment will not inherit any remaining warranty rights.

8. Governing Law

This Warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the original purchase was made, without regard to conflict of law principles.
