Program Introduction

The Four Year Integrated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education (B.A. B.Ed.) is a professional teacher training program designed to produce competent, qualified, and humane teachers for secondary and senior secondary schools. Unlike the traditional B.Ed. pursued after graduation, this integrated approach blends academic knowledge of Arts subjects with professional pedagogical training right from the first year.

The syllabus is structured according to the guidelines established by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), emphasizing a cohesive blend of Core Courses, Elective Courses, and School Internship. The curriculum is divided into eight semesters over four years, requiring students to specialize in two teaching subjects alongside education theory.

Assessment and Evaluation

Internal assessment includes unit tests, assignments, mid-term examinations, seminar presentations, and participation in co-curricular activities. External examinations are generally held at the end of each semester. The program requires students to maintain a minimum attendance of 75% to be eligible to sit for examinations, ensuring regular engagement.
