How to Find Your Textbooks

To locate your required textbooks, follow these simple steps:

  1. Visit the online textbook portal (university bookstore website) and log in with your student ID
  2. Select "Fall 2016" semester
  3. Enter your course code and section number
  4. All required books will be displayed with pricing options

Purchase Options

The University Bookstore offers several options for obtaining your required textbooks:

Financial Aid & Textbooks

Students with financial aid awards can use their remaining financial aid to purchase textbooks at the university bookstore. Simply present your student ID at checkout. The bookstore can apply purchases directly to your student account if you have available financial aid funds.

Return Policy

The University Bookstore offers the following return policy for Fall 2016 textbooks:

  • Returns accepted within 14 days of purchase or the first week of classes (whichever is later)
  • Purchasers must present a valid receipt
  • Shrink-wrapped materials must be returned unopened
  • Access codes cannot be returned once opened/activated

Book Buyback Program

At the end of the semester, the University Bookstore conducts a textbook buyback program. Buyback dates for Fall 2016 will be announced in November. You can receive up to 50% of the current new book price for textbooks that will be used again in the following semester.

Digital Textbooks

Digital options are available for many courses. Digital textbooks can be accessed on computers, tablets, and smartphones. They typically include interactive features such as search, highlighting, and note-taking. Digital codes are available through the bookstore and the textbook portal.

Important Dates

  • August 15: Fall textbook information available online
  • August 22-28: Extended bookstore hours for start of semester
  • September 9: Last day to rent textbooks and receive full refund (with receipt)
  • September 16: Last day to return textbooks for refund (with receipt)
  • December 5-12: End-of-semester textbook buyback

Tips for Saving Money on Textbooks

  • Consider renting textbooks instead of purchasing when possible
  • Check international editions of textbooks (often significantly cheaper, same content)
  • Purchase used textbooks when available
  • Form textbook sharing groups for classes with low usage requirements
  • Check if earlier editions contain the same content (ask your instructor first)
  • Visit the bookstore buyback early in the semester to see what is being purchased
  • Consider library copies for supplemental readings
