The Education and Training Directorate (ETD) exists to empower individuals, organisations, and communities through highquality learning experiences. Core Functions

The Directorate operates across four interrelated functional areas:

  1. Policy Development Drafting national education policies, standards, and regulations.
  2. Program Design & Delivery Creating and managing vocational, technical, and academic programmes.
  3. Quality Assurance Monitoring outcomes, accrediting institutions, and ensuring compliance with best practices.
  4. Research & Innovation Conducting studies on learning trends, technology adoption, and workforce forecasting.

Key Programs

1. Skills for the Future Initiative

Targeted at youth and midcareer professionals, this initiative blends classroom instruction with industryled apprenticeships in fields such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing.

2. Digital Learning Hub

A cloudbased platform that offers open educational resources, virtual labs, and interactive tutoring for learners in remote or underserved regions.

3. Teacher Excellence Programme

Provides continuous professional development, certification pathways, and mentorship networks for educators at all levels.

4. Community Literacy Campaign
