Spontaneous Recovery: Even after a behavior has been extinguished, it may not be gone forever. Spontaneous recovery is the sudden reappearance of a previously extinct conditioned response. For instance, if a dog hears the bell again after a long period during which no conditioning occurred, it might salivate briefly, though usually with less intensity than before.
Generalization: Stimulus generalization is the tendency for the conditioned stimulus to evoke similar responses after the response has been conditioned. For example, after conditioning a dog to salivate to a specific tone of a bell, the dog might also salivate to a slightly different tone. This explains why a person bitten by a dog might develop a fear of all dogs, not just the one that bit them.
Discrimination: Discrimination is the opposite of generalization. It is the ability to differentiate between a conditioned stimulus and other similar stimuli that do not signal an unconditioned stimulus. The dog learns to salivate only to the specific bell tone and ignores other tones.

They frequently pair products (neutral stimuli) with positive stimuli like attractive models, happy music, or humor (unconditioned stimuli). The goal is for the consumer to feel a positive emotional response (happiness, desire) when they see the product in the store.
