Program Overview
The Bachelor of Science (Hons.) at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is a threeyear undergraduate programme designed for students who wish to pursue a rigorous grounding in scientific disciplines while developing analytical, research and problemsolving skills.
The programme is offered by the Faculty of Science and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It follows a semester system, with two semesters per academic year, culminating in a final year project or dissertation that showcases independent research.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must have completed 10+2 (or equivalent) with a minimum aggregate of 55% in Science subjects.
- At least one of the following subjectsPhysics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biologymust be studied at the senior secondary level.
- Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the minimum marks when results are declared.
- Nonresident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and foreign nationals must meet the same academic standards and submit relevant certificates.
