What Is an ADRC?
The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is a nationwide network of more than 2,500 centers that help older adults, people with disabilities, and their families find reliable information, assistance, and resources in their community. Funded by the U.S. Administration on Aging and state agencies, each ADRC serves as a onestop hub where individuals can receive personalized guidance on health, housing, transportation, legal issues, and more.
ADRCs exist in every state, territory, and the District of Columbia, and they work closely with local agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private providers to create a seamless referral system. The goal is simple: empower people to live independently, safely, and with dignity.
Core Services Offered
- Information Referral: Trained staff answer questions about Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, longterm care options, and disability benefits.
- Home & CommunityBased Services (HCBS): Guidance on inhome assistance, adult day programs, and assistive technology.
- Legal & Financial Counseling: Referrals to attorneys and financial planners who specialize in elder law, guardianship, and estate planning.
