21Day Clean Eating Detox
A cleaneating detox is a shortterm program that focuses on whole, minimally processed foods while eliminating refined sugars, artificial additives, and common allergens. The goal isnt to starve the body, but to give the digestive system a break, reduce inflammation, and reset cravings.
Research shows that habits start forming after about three weeks. A 21day calendar gives you enough time to:
Focus on soups, smoothies, and light salads. Eliminate caffeine, alcohol, and dairy.
Add grilled chicken, wildcaught fish, or plantbased proteins (tempeh, lentils). Continue abundant vegetables.
Include avocado, olives, nuts, and coldpressed oils. Begin a daily 10minute mindfulness practice.
Finetune portion sizes, keep a food journal, and plan how to transition back to a longterm cleaneating lifestyle.
Green smoothie kale, spinach, half a banana, frozen berries, chia seeds, unsweetened almond milk.
Handful of raw almonds and a small apple.
Quinoa bowl with roasted sweet potatoes, chickpeas, steamed broccoli, and a lemontahini dressing.
Carrot sticks with homemade guacamole.
Grilled salmon (or baked tofu), quinoa or brown rice, and a mixedleaf salad dressed with olive oil and apple cider vinegar.
Herbal tea (peppermint or ginger) and a square of dark chocolate (85% cacao) if desired.
Cravings for Sugar: Keep fresh fruit on hand and use spices like cinnamon or vanilla to add natural sweetness.
Social Situations: Offer to bring a cleaneating dish to gatherings; most hosts appreciate the gesture.
Meal Boredom: Rotate herbs, spices, and cooking methods (roasting, steaming, grilling) to keep flavors exciting.
Transition slowly back to a broader diet while retaining the core principles you enjoyed. Consider making clean eating a regular reset every 23 months.
